So. There’s this Russian group, RocknMob, an “orchestra of more than 70 musicians,” who organize massive (MASSIVE) flash mobs that perform massive (MASSIVE) covers of rock songs. To date, they’ve covered acts like the Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, and, er, Nickelback; this past September, for their seventh outing, they managed to gather more than 250 people in Moscow to perform Metallica’s “Sad But True.” And while you would naturally assume that such a massive (MASSIVE) group of amateur musicians playing one song together would be a clusterfuck, they somehow pulled it off. Check it out:
In 2017, the group organized a cover of “Enter Sandman” in Saint Petersburg, but that had a mere 100+ participants. Obviously not nearly as massive (MASSIVE).
Go here to check out more from RocknMob. Somehow, they have yet to do the Scorpions’ “Gorky Park” in Gorky Park. Get on it, guys!
