SURFBORT SHARE FIRST TRACK FROM DEBUT ALBUM

Surfbort are a four-piece punk band from Brooklyn, made up of David Head (guitar), Alex Kilgore (bass), Sean Powell (drums) and led by Dani Miller. They recently signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records, and now unleash the first track, ‘Pretty Little Fucker’, taken from their debut LP, ‘Friendship Music’. The album was produced by Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Bodega, The Drums) and Chad Ubovich from Meatbodies. It comes out October 26th and is a co-release with Fat Possum Records.

A limited edition 7″ (2016), followed by the ‘Bort To Death’ EP last year both sold out immediately and lead them to support slots for Thee Oh Sees, Fat White Family, Martin Rev, Tijuana Panthers, DIIV, GOGGS, Leftover Crack, Meatbodies, Ex-Cult, Hinds, among others. The band produces rousing, explosive music that creates a visceral and confrontational live experience; with their feedback-strafed, guitar-shredding saying no to a digital age full of intolerance, they’re not to be missed!

Later this month, they play a handful of shows with The Growlers, plus a stop at Gonerfest, followed by a pre-album release show in LA October 19th, before returning to NYC for their record release show at Baby’s All Right on October 27th. They head back out on the road with Black Lips and Iceage beginning October 31st.

All are welcome in the SURFBORT FREAK FAMILY!

“…their music is pretty damn good….some good ol’ visceral punk mischief here to remind us that there’s often no better way to topple the powers that be than with humor, love, and a lot of noise.” Noisey

“Dani Miller isn’t your American bandstand cupcake sweetheart. She isn’t the doe-eyed front woman labels are constantly on the hunt for. She’s more like the redheaded stepchild of the current music industry, quickly tearing down the last decade’s ideals of chic-looking front woman on stage and catching the attention of designer brands like Gucci in the process…..she might just be your teenage daughter’s next idol.” Purple Diary

“Grousing over how “New York ain’t cool anymore” has become a national pastime of sorts. Far be it for me to add to the steaming pile, but I’ll go ahead and say it has been a long time since we’ve heard such a twistedly furious punk act as Surfbort coming out of Manhattan. Or heck, even from ubiquitously hip Brooklyn.” Please Kill Me

“…A band that isn’t taking itself too seriously and is somehow actually dripping, and/or seething with raw punk ooze. A rock’n roll mutation with living, breathing, tentacles of terror….Dani Miller is a one-of-a-kind force of nature both onstage and on record, as her presence just leaps right out of the grooves and clocks you in the face immediately. The music is stripped raw, all salty and agitated…..the perfect snarl of 70s punk lingering on the edge of early hardcore, but holding onto that impeccable tension that’s usually sorely lacking in most cases. She’s got to be one of the best aggressive vocalists of recent note and the deranged delivery is a taste of pure punk honey that you won’t forget.” Victim Of Time
