Are we content with the content? Or malcontent?
“The data age is an incredible time to be alive. Yet it brings with it a lot of challenges, many of which we haven’t even uncovered yet. It seems like it’s hard to address what is occurring artistically but this is our stab at it,” Papadosio’s Anthony Thogmartin explains. Those exact sentiments are deeply examined in Papadosio’s new record, Content Coma, out everywhere today (Sept 7). “Content Coma is quite diverse. In a lot of ways it’s such a content overload that the name seemed fitting.”
Much like the band’s live performances, Content Coma was made in a highly synergistic fashion. Finding inspiration in hard rock, punk and experimental live electronic music provided a diverse musical pallette for the band to draw from. The recording process began with the band creating and hosting their musical ideas on the online collaborative platform, Splice. Then, for the first time in the band’s career, they went into a recording studio where they recorded the drums, grand piano, and bass.
Content Coma is the result and showcases a band-wide exploratory and genre expansive musical journey. Within Content Coma, Papadosio tactfully composes sonic layers of improvisational and experimental rock weaved with electronic auditory landscapes.

Falling somewhere between rock, jazz, and electronic mayhem we find space rock. Papadosio strives to create music that is strangely familiar, and calls all walks of humanity to bask in a unique experience celebrating the one constant in an ever changing world: music.
Papadosio has packed out Red Rocks Amphitheater for headlining shows the past two years running and now they bring their music to smaller stages on a tour of more intimate performances. Characterized as a dynamic progressive rock band, Papadosio creates the sound of new age technology merging with mesmerizing instrumentation. Between the unfamiliar melodic sound and the element of production their live show will leave wanting more.
