Metallica kick off North American ‘WorldWired Tour’ in Wisconsin!

The second leg of Metallica’s North American ‘WorldWired Tour’ began last night (September 2nd) in Madison, WI, with help from comedian Jim Breuer, who is opening the tour with his special ‘Light It Up’ pre-show.

This was the first show of the North American leg of the WorldWired arena tour.

This was the first time in 14 years that Metallica performed in Madison.

Metallica first played in Madison on December 14, 1983 at Palms.

Metallica’s last performance in Madison was on May 2, 2004 at Alliant Energy Center.

This was the first time that “Hardwired,” “Atlas, Rise!,” “Now That We’re Dead,” “Confusion,” “Halo On Fire,” “Moth Into Flame,” and “Spit Out the Bone” were performed in Madison.

This was the first time in 27 years that “Seek & Destroy,” “Fade to Black,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and “Last Caress” were played in Madison.

This was the first time in nearly three years that “Cyanide” was performed. It was last played on September 19, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Rob & Kirk performed a cover of “Stupid Girl” by Madison’s own Garbage during their doodle.

Metallica performed 18 songs from the following albums: Kill ‘Em All (1), Ride the Lightning (2), Master of Puppets (1), …And Justice for All (1), Metallica (3), Reload (1), Garage Inc. (1), Death Magnetic (1) and Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (7).
