Having originally postponed the initial dates for his upcoming UK/European tour with Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne has now been forced to postpone the entire European/UK leg of the tour. According to an official press release, Osbourne was diagnosed with a ‘severe upper-respiratory infection’ which the doctor feels could potentially develop into pneumonia if Osbourne was to go ahead the winter touring. Osbourne himself commented:
“I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to shit. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis. I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down.
However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It’s being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy.”
As Osbourne stated, the tour is tentatively being rescheduled for September. A press release noted that the tickets for the newly postponed shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates, while refunds are available at point of purchase.
The postponed shows run from January 30th to March 03rd. Osbourne currently plans to resume touring on March 09th in Australia/New Zealand. He will also be on the road this summer with Megadeth on this North American tour.
