As Converge/Mutoid Man, etc. drummer Ben Koller continues to recover and undergo physical therapy after suffering a broken elbow a few weeks back in what he described as a ‘freak accident’, Converge have announced a replacement for their immediate touring. Urian Hackney of Rough Francis will be sitting behind the kit for the band during their Japanese shows with Neurosis this month. Converge commented:
“Due to Ben Koller’s elbow injury, drummer Urian Hackney (Rough Francis), will be performing live with Converge until Ben has healed enough to take the stage. Thank you to everyone who has supported Ben in the recovery effort so far. It means a great deal to us and Ben’s other bands. He will be back playing soon with all of us. Also thank you to Urian for stepping up to the challenge and to his incredible band for the member sharing. See you on the road.”
Family, friends and fans rallied behind Koller via this GoFundMe to help with his medical bills and ongoing physical therapy following the accident, raising almost $33,000 as of press time.
